Thompson Surveying Company has completed projects for many companies and several Texas state, county, and local public works offices.  Additionally, we have also been called upon to complete work in the state of Nevada.   In addition, Thompson Surveying Company is Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) pre-certified to perform Professional Land Surveying services on TxDOT contract projects. Past projects have ranged from small commercial and private property surveys to large land development surveys, landfill developments and public works projects.  Several of the key projects we have completed are listed below and are grouped according to the area of work. COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL PROJECTS:
At Team Thompson we pride ourselves in providing the total package for Commercial Land Development projects. From conception to completion, we provide the surveying to maximize the effectiveness while minimizing the time involved to meet the clients goals. From initial boundary and topographic surveys, through the subdivision platting phase, culminating in construction and final as built surveys, consistent quality results are the goal. We provide electronic data to the Engineer and Architect via high speed internet connections to cut down on time spent with standard mailing or overnight  transfers of data.  Some of our more recent commercial clients are:

The backbone of our service is the ALTA/NSPS Land Title Survey and Topographic Survey for commercial land development. We have performed ALTA/NSPS Surveys for multiple corporate clients in Austin, Brenham, College Station, Houston, Killeen, Lake Jackson, League City, McAllen, Mexia, Missouri City, Pasadena, Richmond,  Rockport,  Sugarland, Stafford, The Woodlands and many more. In addition many Houston projects including several downtown Houston major buildings for large corporations have utilized our services in conveyances or multi-million dollar properties. Their trust has been earned through years of efficient, timely and professional land surveying service to the industry.
 

Wells Fargo Bank,  Lowe's Home Centers, Home Depot, Wal-Mart, Garden Ridge Pottery, Friday's, HEB, K-Mart, and Zio's Italian Restaurants are only a small cross section of the clients served in our history. In addition we provide services to the Spring Branch Independent School District and Avista-Steag/Brazos Valley Energy (Electrical Power Generation Plants) and Calpine, Inc. REPRESENTATIVE PROJECTS
Thompson Surveying Company began using the GPS System in September 1985. GPS technology was new and many of the facets and logistics of a GPS project were being pioneered. Mr. Thompson's first GPS experience involved assisting in the mapping of the Exxon Fullerton Clearfork Petroleum Production Unit in Andrews County, Texas. Initial project scope involved aerial targeting control for 300 square miles of property.  The project was eventually expanded to cover over 1,000 square miles of west Texas and became Exxon's first GIS system base. The project covered 3 counties, and required 18 months of daily (7 days/week) observations. Since that project we have continuously refined our GPS procedures to provide the customer with outstanding GPS service.  The following is a list of the recent GPS projects. 
 

Tropical Storm Alison Recovery Project
Primary GPS Control for Harris County Flood Control District's Survey Monument densification program partially sponsored by the Federal Emergency Management Agency in regards to the Harris County restudy of 22 drainage channels and re-mapping for the Federal Insurance Rate Maps to be released in January 2004.

Rice University - 1,500 acre boundary survey
Primary State Plane Control for four tracts in Montgomery County, Texas,  for future sale and  development.

Lowe's Home Centers, Inc. Sites
Primary State Plane Control for multiple sites in Texas, including Houston, Austin, McAllen, Harlingen, Kingsville, San Antonio, Missouri City, Texas City, Pearland, Pharr, Tomball and Odessa, Texas. ALTA/ACSM Land Title and Topographic Surveys for commercial development of Home Improvement Centers. On one occasion a 25 acre ALTA/ACSM Land Title and Topographic Survey in Bastrop, Texas was completed in 5 working days. The field work was completed in one working day. Proving once again that prompt service is the norm at Team Thompson.

URS Corporation
GPS Control for 475 acres of exclusion areas in six tracts out of a 30,000 acre conveyance from International Paper to URS Corporation. The exceptional part of this work was that the project was completed in four (4) working days.

Trinity Environmental Services, LLC..
On Call surveying services related to monitoring well locations at industrial plant sites including Celanese Chemical Company, Albemarle and others.
