HISTORY

Our company originated in Midland, Texas during 1985 as a sole proprietor and moved to Houston, Texas, November 1989.  In 1992, our offices moved to the northwest area of Houston (Spring Branch) to accommodate our growth.  The principal, L.A. Thompson, has been registered in the State of Texas (R.P.L.S. #3987), since 1981.  Mr. Thompson has been a member of TSA/TSPS has been a member of TSA/TSPS since January 1978 is Past President of The Texas Society of Professional Surveyor's (TSPS) State organization and is the Past-President of the Texas Society of Professional Surveyors (TSPS) Gulf Coast Chapter 9, TSPS Director 2014-2017, and a member of the Past Chairman of TSPS State Education Committee. Mr. Thompson is active in teaching the Seminars "The Surveyor and the Internet", "Professional Land Surveying: Business Principles & Practices" both being 8 hour Continuing Education Unit Seminars for Registered Professional Land Surveyors. Soon offering the new Seminar  "Exam Prep for the NCEES PLS Exam" for Surveyors-In-Training ready to take the Seven-Hour National Test and the two-hour State Specific Exam for Licensure in Texas. Mr. Thompson's experience began in 1966 and currently spans more than 54 years. This kind of experience is becoming rare in the surveying profession, as your first consultation will reveal.

On-going training on current techniques and practices is a standard at Thompson Surveying Company in order to ensure consistent, accurate results in a timely manner.  Training is ongoing at Thompson Surveying Company thus allowing us to provide professional surveying assistance to engineering and surveying professionals that may not possess the manpower and equipment of our ability.
